A Jar of Moles

I’m working on a board book and picture book at the same time. The picture book is a sequel to my previous book “A New House For Mouse”.  I want the new book to be different, but at the same time it needs to have some similarity with the previous book too. Tricky. I do enjoy a challenge.

Looking at the mice here, it seems that she is not very happy, but she is. At the end she is.mouse 1 copyThis is not the end.

I also drew some moles. I like drawing moles.moule 1 copy

I keep all the moles in a see through container. It reminds me of when I saw a jar of pickled moles in a museum. I just googled it, but the image of poor moles inside the jar is so gruesome, that I can’t put it in the blog. Instead I’m offering my jar of moles.

In the book is also a Rabbit.

When I’m working, I also listen to the radio. This week for some reason a few people mentioned a gorilla and how you should never look at a gorilla’s eyes, since it makes them mad. Here is a  picture from my little sketchbook. It’s a sketch of what you shouldn’t do.

Petr … Connie loved house for mouse sooooo much when she was little .. I had to read it with her every night for nearly a year, and even though she is too old for the book now she is really looking forward to this sequel …. You are so clever!
